Clearer, More Detailed Sound for Compatible Ford Vehicles
The Focal IS FORD 165 combines 165mm Polyglass woofers with separate aluminium inverted-dome tweeters. It improves vocal clarity, controlled mid-bass and front soundstage definition while retaining selected original Ford speaker locations.
Ford Factory Audio Compatibility
Compatible with limited models equipped with factory B&O audio system. Generally compatible on non-amplified factory audio systems only. Please refer to the Compatibility Guide or contact your nearest Authorised Focal Australia Dealer to confirm compatibility.
Most supported applications use a non-amplified factory system. Limited B&O-equipped models may support the speakers in specific positions, but B&O compatibility must be explicitly listed and does not automatically extend to amplifier integration.
2-Way Component Speaker Design
The IS FORD 165 installs its woofer and tweeter in separate compatible factory locations. The woofer reproduces midrange and upper-bass information, while the separate tweeter handles high-frequency detail. This arrangement improves soundstage height, width and vocal placement.
165mm Polyglass Woofers
The 165mm Polyglass cones combine cellulose damping with glass-microbead rigidity. Voices and instruments remain clear, while drums and bass instruments gain stronger and more controlled mid-bass.
Separate Aluminium Inverted-Dome Tweeters
The separate aluminium tweeters provide rapid response and broad dispersion. Compatible upper mounting positions help raise the soundstage and improve vocal and instrument placement.
Sound Performance and Bass Response
The published response extends to approximately 60Hz. The kit provides stronger mid-bass rather than deep sub-bass, and a dedicated subwoofer remains the correct solution for the lowest frequencies.

The IS FORD 165 is listed for selected Ford Ranger, Everest, Mustang, Escape, Kuga, Puma, Transit and many other applications. Selected Fiat, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mazda and Volkswagen vehicles may also use the kit.
Build a Complete Focal Inside Audio System
The IS FORD 165 can be paired with IC FORD 165 rear speakers, a suitable subwoofer and an Impulse 4.320 amplifier where the correct non-amplified harness and any required IW SPK SIM are confirmed.
Preserve the Original Interior
Once installed in a confirmed application, the IS FORD 165 remains concealed behind compatible original Ford trim and factory grilles. The dashboard, doors and factory controls retain their original appearance, and the installation can remain substantially reversible when original wiring and trim are preserved.
