The Tesla Model Y Premium Audio upgrade is a comprehensive Focal Inside speaker solution designed for compatible Tesla Model Y vehicles fitted with the factory Premium Audio system.

Improve the factory Premium Audio system in your Tesla Model Y with a carefully matched combination of vehicle-specific Focal Inside speakers.
The Model Y Premium Audio system provides integrated amplification, digital audio processing and multiple speaker locations throughout the cabin. However, the system’s overall performance remains influenced by the construction and acoustic capability of its original speakers.
This package replaces the primary factory speakers with Focal Inside models featuring Focal Flax cones, aluminium inverted-dome tweeters and compact neodymium motors.
At the front of the vehicle, the ICC T3Y 100 centre-channel speaker improves vocal positioning and sound-stage stability. The IS T3Y 100 component system upgrades the front dashboard speakers and compatible pillar tweeter locations, delivering greater clarity, detail and sound dispersion across the wide Model Y dashboard.
The IW T3Y 200 woofers replace the original lower front-door speakers, providing stronger and better-controlled mid-bass.
Two IC T3Y 100 coaxial kits upgrade the rear doors and rear tailgate. These additional rear speakers improve rear-seat listening quality and create more consistent sound distribution throughout the larger Model Y cabin.
The result is a clearer, more detailed and better-balanced version of the Tesla Premium Audio system without replacing the factory touchscreen, amplifier or integrated audio controls.
Why Upgrade the Tesla Premium Audio System?
The Tesla Model Y Premium Audio system offers useful factory integration, amplification and processing, but its overall performance can still be restricted by the original loudspeakers.
Replacing the factory speakers with Focal Inside components allows the Tesla electronics to reproduce music through higher-quality speaker cones, tweeters and motor assemblies.
Focal’s Flax speaker cones provide a natural and well-defined midrange with improved control and dynamics. Vocals sound more realistic, instruments become easier to distinguish and music gains greater depth and presence.

The larger IW T3Y 200 front-door woofers provide improved mid-bass weight and control. At the rear, the upgraded rear-door and tailgate speakers help distribute sound more evenly through the Model Y’s larger passenger and cargo areas.
Because the Tesla touchscreen, factory amplifier and audio processing remain in place, the vehicle retains its original functionality and familiar user experience.

ICC T3Y 100 Front Centre Channel
The ICC T3Y 100 is a vehicle-specific centre-channel speaker designed for compatible Tesla Model 3 and Model Y applications.
Positioned in the centre of the dashboard, it helps improve:

The IW T3Y 200 kit includes two 200mm Focal Flax woofers developed for the lower front-door locations.

When no compatible location is available, there are two possible approaches:

- Carry out minor professional adaptation to accommodate the tweeters
Installing the tweeters generally provides better high-frequency extension, sound-stage height and front-cabin detail. However, this should only be performed where they can be mounted securely and positioned correctly.
Compatibility should be physically confirmed before installation begins.
Factory Rear Subwoofer Options
Focal does not currently offer a direct replacement speaker designed specifically for the factory rear quarter-panel subwoofer enclosure in the Tesla Model Y.
The original factory subwoofer can remain connected and operational alongside the upgraded Focal speakers.
For owners wanting improved deep-bass performance, some Authorised Focal Australia Dealers may be able to modify the original enclosure and install a suitable Focal Flax Evo subwoofer in the factory location.
This approach may provide:
- Retention of the original subwoofer position
- No large enclosure occupying the cargo area
