The Focal ICR MBZ 100 is a vehicle-specific 2-way coaxial surround speaker kit designed for selected Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with dedicated surround-speaker locations.
Each speaker combines a 100mm Flax midrange cone with an integrated high-frequency driver. The kit improves rear spatial detail, vocal clarity and sound-field continuity while retaining compatible factory speaker locations.
The ICR MBZ 100 is not a general rear-door replacement. It should only be installed where the current Compatibility Guide identifies a dedicated surround position.
Mercedes-Benz Factory Audio Compatibility
Compatible with selected Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with Standard, Advanced or Burmester factory audio systems where specifically listed. Compatibility varies by model, production year, market, speaker position and factory audio configuration. 2-Way Coaxial Surround Speaker Design

100mm Flax Sandwich-Cone Midrange Drivers
Focal’s Flax sandwich cone balances low mass, rigidity and damping through natural flax fibres placed between thin glass-fibre layers.
The construction supports natural midrange reproduction, helping rear vocals, instruments and ambient information sound clearer and better integrated with the front soundstage.
Integrated High-Frequency Reproduction
The integrated high-frequency driver adds treble detail without requiring a separate tweeter location.
This supports a compact coaxial installation within the dedicated Mercedes-Benz surround opening. Correct polarity and system balance remain important to avoid excessive rear emphasis.
Surround Fill Rather Than Primary Front-Stage Output
The ICR MBZ 100 is designed to support spatial information and rear sound-field continuity rather than replace the primary front component speakers.

4-Ohm Design for Compatible Factory Surround Channels
The ICR MBZ 100 has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. The connected factory or aftermarket surround channel must be suitable for this load and the speaker’s power rating.
Factory channel equalisation, filtering and level control may remain after the speakers are replaced.
Vehicle-Specific Plug & Play Integration
The ICR MBZ 100 uses dedicated Mercedes-Benz connections and mounting provisions for selected compatible factory locations. In confirmed applications, the original speaker wiring can remain intact.

Difference Between Surround, Rear-Door and Centre Speakers
The ICR MBZ 100 is designed for dedicated surround positions. Standard rear-door positions may require an IS MBZ component kit or IC MBZ coaxial kit instead.
The dashboard centre channel requires the ICC MBZ 100 where specifically listed. These products should not be treated as interchangeable.
Build a Complete Mercedes-Benz Surround System
The ICR MBZ 100 can form part of a complete system with compatible IS MBZ front and rear component speakers, the ICC MBZ 100 centre channel and the correct ISUB MBZ right-hand-drive subwoofer pair.
The final result depends on the number of factory channels, original signal processing and correct level matching between the front, centre, surround and bass speakers.
