BMW has used Standard Audio, Hi-Fi, Harman Kardon and Bowers & Wilkins systems with different amplifiers, speaker impedances and processing. Speaker fitment does not automatically confirm compatibility with an aftermarket amplifier or under-seat woofer.
2-Way Component Speaker Design
The IS BMW 100 V2 installs its woofer and tweeter in separate compatible factory locations. The woofer reproduces midrange and upper-bass information, while the separate tweeter handles high-frequency detail. This arrangement improves soundstage height, width and vocal placement.
100mm Black Polyglass Woofers
The 100mm woofers use Black Polyglass cone technology and shallow neodymium motors for selected restricted BMW locations. Glass microbeads increase cone rigidity while the cellulose base retains damping, improving midrange definition and reducing unwanted resonance.
Aluminium/Magnesium Inverted-Dome Tweeters
The separate aluminium/magnesium tweeters provide rapid response, broad dispersion and improved damping. Their compatible upper mounting positions help lift the front soundstage and reproduce cymbals, strings and vocal harmonics with greater clarity.
Sound Performance and Bass Response
The IS BMW 100 V2 concentrates on midrange clarity and upper-bass definition rather than deep bass. A complete system can use the correctly matched 2-ohm, 4-ohm or 8-ohm BMW under-seat woofer identified for the vehicle.

A compatible system may combine IS BMW 100 V2 front speakers, IC BMW 100 V2 coaxial speakers, an ICC BMW 100 centre speaker and the correctly matched BMW under-seat woofers. All components must match the original audio package.
Preserve the Original Interior
Once installed in a confirmed application, the IS BMW 100 V2 remains concealed behind compatible original BMW trim and factory grilles. The dashboard, doors and factory controls retain their original appearance, and the installation can remain substantially reversible when original wiring and trim are preserved.
