The Focal IW MBZ Y-ISO Harness routes compatible speaker-level signals from selected Mercedes-Benz factory head units through the Focal Impulse 4.320 while retaining the original radio, dashboard and vehicle functions.
Mercedes-Benz Factory Audio Compatibility
Not compatible with Burmester or other factory-amplified Mercedes-Benz audio systems. Designed for selected compatible non-amplified factory audio systems only. Please refer to the Compatibility Guide or contact your nearest Authorised Focal Australia Dealer to confirm compatibility.
Burmester systems use a separate factory amplifier and different signal architecture. The standard IW MBZ Y-ISO and Impulse configuration is not suitable for Burmester. Several applications use a pre-June-2019 production limitation.
Designed for the Focal Impulse 4.320 Amplifier
The harness provides the vehicle-side connection for the compact Impulse 4.320. The amplifier, extension cable, output harness, fused power cable, ground and speakers are separate unless included in a complete pack.
One-Metre Mercedes-Benz ISO Harness Cable
The IW MBZ Y-ISO Harness is supplied as a one-metre cable for selected compatible head-unit looms.
ISO Connections Without Soldering
Dedicated vehicle and ISO connectors support integration without individually cutting or soldering compatible factory speaker wires. The amplifier still requires correct power, grounding and configuration.
Select the Harness by Chassis Code, Build Date and Head Unit
Mercedes-Benz changed connectors and audio systems within model generations. Confirm the chassis code, build date, infotainment system and absence of a separate factory amplifier.
Commonly Limited to Selected Pre-June-2019 Applications
Current compatibility information commonly lists selected C-Class, E-Class and S-Class vehicles and identifies a before-June-2019 limitation in several applications. Later vehicles may require another solution.
Retain the Original Factory Head Unit
A compatible original head unit remains installed, preserving steering-wheel controls, cameras, parking information, navigation and vehicle settings. Aftermarket radios normally require conventional amplifier wiring.

The Harness Does Not Power the Amplifier
The harness carries audio and speaker connections only. A properly fused power feed and secure ground are required for the amplifier.
Factory Equalisation and Processing May Remain
Factory equalisation, bass limiting and other head-unit processing remain in the signal. Advanced correction may require a digital signal processor.
Professional Installation Recommended
Professional installation is recommended to verify the non-amplified system, connector and build date, route the cables, install fused power and configure the amplifier.
