The Focal Inside Volkswagen Amarok 6.0 Pack Older Model is a complete powered audio upgrade designed for selected compatible older-generation Volkswagen Amarok vehicles. It combines front component speakers, rear coaxial speakers, a compact 4-channel amplifier and dedicated Volkswagen integration cabling to improve clarity, balance, control and overall listening quality while retaining the original factory head unit and interior appearance.
The system is designed for Amarok owners who want clearer vocals, improved instrument detail, stronger and more controlled mid-bass, better front soundstage definition and improved rear-cabin coverage without replacing the original Volkswagen radio or introducing visible aftermarket equipment.
Compatibility depends on the exact vehicle build date, factory head unit, speaker arrangement and original audio configuration. The description “older model” or “pre-2023” is an initial application guide rather than final confirmation of fitment.
Factory Audio Compatibility
Not compatible with factory amplified or premium Volkswagen audio systems. Designed for compatible non-amplified factory audio systems only. Please refer to the Compatibility Guide or contact your nearest Authorised Focal Australia Dealer to confirm compatibility.
In a compatible non-amplified Amarok, the original Volkswagen head unit sends powered speaker-level signals directly to the factory speakers. The included Volkswagen Y-ISO Harness routes these signals through the Focal Impulse 4.320 amplifier before returning the amplified output to the upgraded speakers.
Vehicles equipped with Dynaudio, Harman Kardon or another separately amplified premium audio system use a different signal path and require a separate system assessment. A compatible-looking speaker opening or head-unit connector does not confirm that this powered pack is suitable.

IS VW 165 Front Component Speakers
The front of the Amarok is upgraded using the Focal IS VW 165 2-way component speaker kit. The separate 165mm Polyglass woofers and aluminium inverted-dome tweeters operate from compatible factory locations, allowing each driver to reproduce the frequencies for which it is designed.
The woofers improve midrange and upper-bass reproduction, while the separate tweeters add high-frequency detail and help raise the perceived soundstage. Vocals and instruments appear more naturally positioned across the dashboard rather than originating only from the lower doors.
IC VW 165 Rear Coaxial Speakers
The compatible rear-door positions are upgraded using the Focal IC VW 165 2-way coaxial speaker kit. Each speaker combines a 165mm Polyglass woofer and aluminium inverted-dome tweeter within one assembly, making it suitable for supported rear locations without separate factory tweeters.
The rear upgrade improves vocal intelligibility, instrument definition and high-frequency coverage for rear-seat passengers while helping create a more consistent tonal balance throughout the cabin. Rear output should be adjusted so that it supports rather than overwhelms the main front soundstage.
Polyglass Cone Technology
The front and rear speakers use Focal Polyglass cone technology. Fine glass microbeads are applied to a cellulose pulp cone, combining the natural damping characteristics of paper with the additional rigidity of glass.
This construction helps control unwanted resonance while allowing the cone to retain its intended shape during movement. Vocals and instruments sound cleaner and more accurately defined, while drums and bass instruments gain stronger and more controlled mid-bass.
Aluminium Inverted-Dome Tweeters
The front component tweeters and integrated rear tweeters use Focal aluminium inverted-dome technology. The inverted profile provides rapid response and broad sound dispersion, helping distribute high-frequency information across the cabin.
Cymbals, strings, vocal harmonics and subtle recording details become clearer and easier to distinguish. The separate front tweeters establish the primary soundstage, while the rear coaxial tweeters improve coverage for passengers.

Compact Focal Impulse 4.320 Amplification
The included Focal Impulse 4.320 is an ultra-compact 4-channel Class-D amplifier delivering 4 × 55W RMS. It provides the upgraded speakers with more usable power, greater control and improved dynamic headroom compared with many standard factory head units.
Vocals and instruments remain better defined at higher listening levels, while mid-bass becomes tighter and less congested. The amplifier does not remove factory equalisation or processing already applied by the original head unit, but it allows compatible speakers to operate with greater authority and control.
Retain the Original Volkswagen Head Unit
The pack is designed to operate with a compatible original Volkswagen radio or infotainment system. Retaining the factory source helps preserve steering-wheel controls, Bluetooth and media functions, reversing-camera displays, parking information, vehicle settings, navigation and the original dashboard appearance.
The original head unit remains the source of the audio signal, while the Impulse 4.320 provides additional power for the upgraded speakers.
Volkswagen Y-ISO Harness and Extension Cable
The Focal IW VW Y-ISO Harness connects between a compatible original Volkswagen head unit and the Focal Inside amplifier cabling system. The vehicle-specific and ISO connections route the supported factory audio signal without individually cutting or soldering speaker wiring.
The included IMP EXTENSION I/O 150 is a 1.5-metre twisted input-and-output cable. Its input conductors carry the factory signal to the amplifier, while its output conductors return the amplified signal to the vehicle speaker wiring. The extension also provides flexibility when selecting a suitable concealed amplifier location.
Power and Ground Requirements
The Y-ISO Harness and extension cable carry audio and speaker connections; they do not provide the primary electrical power required by the Impulse 4.320 amplifier.
The amplifier requires a correctly sized and fused power connection together with a suitable vehicle ground. Power wiring must be protected and routed away from heat, moisture, sharp metal edges, moving components, control wiring and airbag equipment.
Plug & Play Integration
Plug & Play describes the use of vehicle-specific speaker connectors, factory-compatible mounting provisions and dedicated amplifier cabling. It does not mean that the pack is universally compatible with every older-generation Amarok or that the complete installation requires no professional work.
Installation can include careful trim removal, amplifier mounting, fused power and grounding, cable routing, speaker polarity checks, acoustic sealing, gain adjustment, crossover configuration and final system testing.

Add Acoustic Insulation or a Subwoofer
Focal BAM acoustic insulation may be installed around compatible door and body-panel locations to help reduce local vibration and resonance and improve the acoustic mounting environment around the speakers.
The 6.0 Pack improves speaker power and mid-bass control but does not include a dedicated subwoofer. A compatible powered or separately amplified subwoofer may be added where deeper low-frequency extension and greater bass impact are required.

A professional installer can confirm the factory audio configuration, identify the original head-unit connector, verify front and rear speaker fitment, install the required fused power and ground wiring, mount the amplifier securely and configure the completed system correctly.
